A Memory Book made especially for Nana

Every book I create is different, because every life has its own stories, memories and little details that make it special.

I have MS myself, which has affected my memory of both the past and present. Because of this, I appreciate so much how difficult it can feel when someone is unable to recall and share those precious memories with family and friends.

That is one of the reasons I love creating Life Story Books, and, why I made a memory book especially for Nana.

I work with family members to gather personal information, photographs and memorabilia, bringing everything together in a ‘This Is Your Life’ format — from birth to the present day.

Take a glimpse into just a few pages of Nana's life story book

It can include all those little pieces that make up a life: where someone was born, their parents and grandparents, childhood homes, school days, favourite hobbies, friendships, holidays and special occasions, through to their career, meeting their partner, family life, children and grandchildren.

Sometimes I can research and add details too — such as the school they attended, the church where they were christened or married, or even an old photograph of a first home if I can find one. Where possible, I love including certificates, drawings, school memories, place names and other little treasures along the way.

The more personal the details, the more special the finished book becomes.

It isn't simply a collection of photographs. It becomes a memory story book — something to look through, talk about and share with family and friends.

Imagine being able to look back and remember those early school days, a wedding, a first home, family holidays, Christmases and all the little moments in between.

And that is what I love most about creating these books: bringing a lifetime of memories together in one place, so they can be treasured, shared and passed down through the generations.
