I've always believed that our memories are one of the most precious things we carry through life, whether it be to help people hold onto when their memory starts to fade, or, simply a beautiful way to celebrate and remember a chapter in life you never want to forget!
I engage with families who may have a relative or friend moving into residential care or a nursing home and are worried about them settling into their new surroundings. Hopefully I can help them achieve a way of easing that feeling of loneliness and separation by creating a Memory Story Book for everyone to share and reminisce.
I piece together their lifetime memories, photographs and information, then thoroughly research into where they are from, their family history, schools they attended, family milestone occasions and any other event to get as much personalised data as possible to create a unique and personalised life memory story book. This creates an amazing keepsake for loved ones to have with them when away from the family, reassuring they are loved and never forgotten!
I have had the honour of being able to help many people in their transition, not only helping them keep a connection with family and friends, but also a means of communication between carers, staff and even other residents.
Memories tell a story of who we are, where we've been, who we've loved and moments through time and my books offer comfort, reassurance, connection and familiarity to help those living with memory challenges, and, preserve treasured memories for families and loved ones for years to come.
The books can also be given for so many other occasions, celebrating a Wedding or a Christening or Baby's early years, a Milestone Birthdays, a New Home and even a Memory and Message book to remember the passing of a loved one. The list is endless!
